Customer Support Specialist - RIP Technology - Cambridge
Customer Support Specialist with experience in the electronic printing and publishing industry, preferably with PostScript*PDF and output devices, required for one of the world-leaders in high performance printing and publishing technologies and electronic document management in Cambridge. You should also have a degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Any of the following also an advantage: 0-2 years C*C++ development on Windows and Mac*Unix*Linux, knowledge of the PostScript language, PDF file format, and standard desktop publishing applications, an understanding of digital colour and screening issues, experience with colour management systems, CORBA, Borland Delphi, C#, Visual Basic, Microsoft .net, COM experience, and any or all of the following compilers: VC++, Watcom C++, VS.Net, gcc, CodeWarrior. You will provide support for the UK and US offices within the Customer Support Group, as well as with customers and other groups within the company. The Customer Support Group provides direct technical support to OEM Partners. All members of the Support Group are "problem investigators" and solvers. You will not just a be part of a help desk, your real contribution, and the joy in this work, is in solving new and challenging problems for our customers. Responsibilities include answering questions related to operation, configurations, and possible problems, analysing and troubleshooting problems reported by our customers, troubleshooting, testing and verifying reported problems and devising workarounds if possible. Salary negotiable depending on skills and experience.
